Yes.

❓ If streaming is bad for artists, what's the alternative?

As a listener, I'm exploring alternatives -- I can't afford a streaming subscription anyway. Instead of some boring streaming corpo playlists, I'm really into good radio. Check out DDR or NTS.

For album listening, I'm getting back into mp3s. I self-host Jellyfin on a home server. Without the server, I use Foobar or Clementine.
